Growing up I loved watching martial arts films, Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee were my idols and inspired me to train martial arts from a young age, I started training Kung Fu. Like many teenagers, I had a break in martial arts and drastically saw the derailment of organisation and discipline within my life.
On a mission to gain back my focus, I started training MMA in 2013, learning a multitude of disciplines and it was there where I rekindled my love for martial arts in the surprising form of Kyokushin Karate.
This was similar to martial arts I had trained in the past such as Muay Thai and Chinese Kickboxing but particularly known for its tough and at times brutal conditioning. Through this training I soon started to see the positive effects it was having on my everyday life. Aside from the typical physical growth that you get from the gym such as strength and fitness, the mental strengthening of skills such as patience, self control, discipline and humility were being further developed through my training. Adopting a growth mindset of seeing oneself as forever being a student.
To date I am a black belt in karate and have won a British national championship and also been runner up twice in the heavyweight category (80kg). I have used my foundations learnt in Kyokushin to compete in K1 and Muay Thai as well. Aside from my love of martial arts, day to day I am a teacher and currently employed as the senior leader at an SEN school in west London.
As a personal trainer and coach my goal is not just to strengthen and improve your physical health but also your mental health through my teaching and sharpening combat skills. I inspire and help people to push their fitness boundaries, smash their personal goals, unlock their full potential and become more confident and content in their lives.
